Will you be able to make money with a seasonal vending machine location? That really depends on how profitable it is going to be during the busy season. In order to determine this, you are going to have to crunch numbers on paper and see how it all turns out. Initially, it may seem like the seasonal vending machine location is going to make you enough money to cover the slow periods too, but that isn't always the case. For example, you may have a baseball field in your area where practices and games are held for three months out of the year. In the same area is a football field which also gets plenty of traffic for games and practice for about four months out of the year. This means that for approximately seven months, your vending machine will see a great deal of activity. You really need to figure your profits for the period of time that the vending machine is gong to make money. To break even with the same rate as one that gets steady traffic all year, it is going to have to make two or three times the amount of money each month. This depends on how many months the season of activity is going to be. For example if it will be six months than it needs to make twice as much. If the season will be nine months then it needs to make one and a half times the amount each month. It can get to be complicated and time consuming to accurately evaluate all of these figures. You really have to do it though as you don't want to risk your vending machine seating at a seasonal location and draining your profits instead of contributing to them. The amount of expenses you relating to your vending machine business are going to have to be carefully evaluated. You may have a monthly payment for the location as well as for the vending machine. Some vending machine owner's opt to move them from the seasonal locations to other places too in order to generate additional income. This is possible to do but you have to be careful when you move them. You don't want to cause any damage to your vending machine. You also want to make sure you have all the details worked out with the owner of the vending machine location so you can return to it at a later date. In most cases, for them to hold this vending machine location for you, they will continue to charge you a monthly fee. Make sure you calculate that expense into the evaluation for the seasonal vending machine location. You may find it is still extremely profitable or you may find it isn't going to make you any profits in the long run. In order to determine if a seasonal vending machine location is going to be profitable for you or not, you will really need to do your homework. All of your estimated figures should be on the low side in order to get a realistic picture. If you end up with more profits than you anticipated then that is great. If you do decide to have a vending machine location that is seasonal, you are going to have to make sure you budget your money wisely. You can't blow the big profits you are making during the busy time or you will find you run short on business funds during the slower period of the year.
